Dangers of mould and its effects on our health

Read an article by Dr Mercola (in Spanish) about the dangers of mould and its effects on our health. It highlights various symptoms of illness that are directly related to mould. The following text is the translation of the summary:

“Mould in the home, school or workplace is a serious health problem, with up to 40 percent of schools and 25 percent of homes in the United States infested with mould.

The microtoxins or toxins produced by mould can enter the brain through the nose and eyes. Some of the more neurotoxic moulds can have effects on the central nervous system, such as cognitive and behavioural changes, ataxia and seizures.

Two of the most well-known toxic moulds are Stachybotrys chartarum (“black mould”), which can cause everything from headaches to cancer, and Aspergillus, which can cause severe lung infections or lead to whole-body infections.

Moulds are particularly dangerous to babies and children. There is evidence that some cases of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) may be linked to exposure to toxic moulds.”
